What is Meditation?

Meditation is a way of helping us to become more present in each moment. At The Awareness Center we focus on Vipassana, or "mindfulness" meditation, which helps us to be more in touch with life by making us more aware of what is going on in our bodies and minds, at the moment it is happening.

Meditative Yoga enhances our moment-to-moment awareness by employing the techniques of mindfulness meditation between and during the yoga postures.

The Awareness Center/Newark offers Meditative Yoga and free silent group sitting meditation sessions.

 

Free Group Sitting Meditation Schedule

Sundays 8:00 - 9:30 am

Wednesdays 4:30 - 5:25 pm
